Fan3D Privacy Policy

Fan3D processes projects and media on your Mac by default and minimizes the information needed for accounts and transactions.

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Important

This page describes Fan3D’s current product boundaries and basic rules. A separate written agreement between your organization and Fan3D controls the matters it covers.

1. Scope and principles

This policy explains how Fan3D handles information when you use the native macOS app, official website, account, purchase services, and support channels.

We process information only to the lawful, fair, necessary, and limited extent required to provide a feature, maintain security, complete a transaction, or respond to your request.

2. Account, order, and membership information

When you sign in, we process login and account identifiers, authentication state, and necessary security records to identify the account, maintain the session, and prevent abuse.

For a Creator purchase, we process the order number, selected plan, amount, currency, status, payment time, provider transaction identifier, and access term. Creem processes payment details; Fan3D does not receive your complete card number or payment password.

3. Local projects and crash reports

Fan3D projects, imported media, editing state, and rendered output remain on your Mac or a location you choose by default. Signing in or buying Creator does not automatically upload project files.

The app may store preferences, thumbnails, caches, and diagnostic state in standard system locations. You can manage these by deleting projects, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app.

After a crash, macOS may create a native .ips report. On a later successful launch, the app may upload that report over HTTPS without project files or imported media. The service redacts the report before storage; full redacted reports are kept for 30 days, and issue summaries and occurrence records for 180 days.

4. Files you select and system permissions

Fan3D reads a file only after you select, drag, or otherwise explicitly provide it. A selected file may be copied into a project package so the project remains editable and renderable.

Fan3D requests macOS permission or file access only when a feature needs it. You can review or revoke granted permissions in macOS System Settings.

5. External agents and credentials

You choose whether to enable supported external-agent features. Fan3D does not bundle a model, agent loop, or model credentials, and does not manage an external-agent account for you.

When you start a task, necessary instructions and project context may be handled by that agent within your authorization. Its provider controls the account, network transfer, and retention rules.

6. Website, checkout, and cookies

Website hosting may create basic access, security, and failure logs. Checkout uses short-lived cookies to maintain one purchase session and prevent cross-site requests. One-time checkout credentials are not saved to localStorage or sessionStorage.

When you email or send feedback, we process the contact details and issue information you provide so we can respond, verify the account, and investigate the problem.

7. Use and sharing of information

We use information only to provide features, authenticate accounts, process transactions and access, maintain security, diagnose failures, answer support requests, and improve the experience. We do not sell personal information.

Necessary information may be shared with hosting, authentication, Creem, or external-agent providers you choose. We may also retain or disclose records when required by applicable law.

8. Retention and security

You control retention of local projects and media. Account, order, payment, support, and necessary log records are kept only as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, audit security, or meet legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified.

We use access controls, short-lived sessions, and least-privilege measures appropriate to the product, but no device or software can guarantee absolute security. Protect your Mac, project copies, sign-in method, and external-agent credentials.

9. Your choices and account deletion

You can manage local files, system permissions, and external-agent connections, or contact us to request an applicable account inquiry, correction, or deletion. We may need to verify the relationship between the requester and the account.

See Account Deletion for the process and retention boundaries. Deleting the online account does not automatically delete .fan3d projects, media, or exports on your Mac.

10. Minors, updates, and contact

Minors should use Fan3D under guardian guidance and avoid providing unnecessary personal information or making purchases on their own.

We may update this policy as the product or information-handling boundaries change and will show the date on this page. Privacy questions can be sent to support@fandcode.com.
